How Uroanswers pages are written, sourced and corrected, and what they will not do.

Updated: 2 October 2026

This page explains how Uroanswers pages are written, checked and kept current, and what they will not do.

Where our pages come from

Every answer and article starts from published clinical practice guidelines, not from opinion. Each factual claim in a draft is checked against the guideline text it is based on, and a claim the guidelines don't support is removed rather than softened or hedged.

Where the guidelines don't settle a question, the page says so in its own words instead of filling the gap with a guess.

What a page shows

Pages list their sources so you can check them yourself, and each page shows the date it was last reviewed. Guidelines are updated over time and recommendations can differ between countries — if something you read here differs from what your clinician tells you, that difference is worth asking them about directly.

What our pages don't do

  • They don't give individual medical advice. They describe what the guidelines say in general. Your own clinician is the person who can advise you on your own case. See the medical disclaimer.
  • They don't compare or rank commercial products. Members may talk about their own experience with specific products on the forum, under the forum rules, but our own pages never rank brands against each other.
  • They don't take payment for coverage. No one can pay for a topic to be covered, for a page to reach a particular conclusion, or for a product to be mentioned.

Review and corrections

Pages are revisited on a schedule, not left to go stale. If you think a page is wrong or out of date, email contact@uroanswers.org with the page and what you think is wrong — we check it against the source and correct it where the sources support a change.

Who writes and checks pages

Pages are written, checked and reviewed by the Uroanswers editorial team, which is accountable for everything published here.
